Biological History & Beneficial Characteristics

Pu-erh tea is a fermented tea that originates from China. The leaves and buds are picked when ripe and endure a careful microbial fermentation and drying process to preserve the sweet richness of the tea. In the drying process, the tea leaves endure a roasting procedure to change the colours of the green leaves to a darken smoky colour. Pu-erh tea is known for it's uniquely regal flavour and empowering caffeine content which can benefit healthy mental alertness. Similar to fine spirits and wines, Pu-erh tea increases in value and taste as it ages if stored in the proper conditions. This is one of the most popular teas in daily Chinese society and is enjoyed at all hours of the day. Additionally, Pu-erh is appreciated greatly in the Russian culture as the tea of choice brewed hot or part of a Чайный гриб (Chayniy grib) kombucha recipe. For an elevated experience, add our Organic Chamomile Tea to the mix and discover a harmonic companion that will truly delight the mind and comfort the soul.

Preparing this special tea requires special attention to extract the full taste that it has to offer. First, pour a little hot water on the tea bag to allow for an infusion process to begin similar to brewing a quality espresso. After 10 seconds, fill with the desired water level and enjoy.

All our organic teas are certified to exceed the strictest organic standards in the world. We are proud to offer all our teas certified NON-GMO as they are all organically grown without artificial flavouring, harmful pesticides nor preservatives. Carefully packaged in state-of-the-art facilities with the strictest attention to quality control and health regulations. All organic teas contain varying levels of natural antioxidants that can fight and may even prevent cell damage and certain types of cancer. Additionally, organic teas have been shown in research to prevent a range of heart-related issues from congestive heart failure to high blood pressure with their ability to improve blood flow and lower cholesterol levels. Subsequently, tea has shown to help prevent the formation of plaque in the body that can lead to the development of Alzheimer's disease. Drinking organic tea is a healthy and tasty natural alternative to sugary and synthetic beverages. Cheers to a great cup of tea for your health.
